    Just a quick programing note, next week I am going to be out of town and [info]kari77 has graciously offered to host the 108 marathon next Sunday night. So be super nice to her!

    Announcement
    For personal reasons I've decided to make all of the entries in my journal private, with the exception of my fiction, which will always remain completely open and unlocked to everyone. I just wanted to let you know. It has nothing to do with fandom or fangirls or anything like that, but with real life nonsense that will hopefully go away eventually. Until then you won't see anything new around here unless I write new fic (which is a distinct possibility). Please don't defriend me because someday I might be back and it would be sad if I didn't have any friends when I did. I'll still be checking in and commenting occasionally and will respond to comments left on my fiction, all of which can be found HERE.

    Hi everyone!

    I just realized I have almost no Jewish icons! which would have been just fine if I wasn't Jewish, but I am, and therefore must have more jewish icons!

    I was hoping maybe someone would be willing to make me some icons with Jewish references, like when Mel says "that's right, blame the Jew" or maybe some with Ted in the Gay-Jewish-bar night party or whatever it was in season 5... if you need more, I can give them to you on the comments.

    “Yep.” Justin smiled and scooped Gus up in his arms. He drew snowflakes on the frosted glass as he spoke. “In fact I bet it starts in Canada and then sweeps down to New York. It's like we're sharing the same snow.”

    Brian rolled over and landed in a cold spot. He opened his eyes and stared at the place where Justin’s warm ass should have been.

    He shoved his hair out of his eyes, grumbling. First, Justin slipped into a tryptophan-induced coma. Then, Brian had to wake him to punish him severely for his lack of decorum.

    Well, that depended on one’s definition of punishment.

    And now he was gone.

    “Hey.”

    “Where the hell were you?”

    “Calling Mel and Linds, and Michael.”

    “Why?”

    “First snowfall. We’re taking Gus and JR to the park.”

    Maybe he could bury Justin in a snowbank…

    By the way, hearkening back to my earlier post--this doesn't spoil anything, since you can see on the Yuletide list of requested fandoms that no one asked for it--I did not get assigned to write for Richard Adams's The Plague Dogs. I decided, when I accidentally included it in the list, that rather than redo my list I'd just go read the book once and for all, even before the assignments came out, so I got it from the library.

    I got through Ulysses easier than this. This is...guys, I have written some interesting metaphors myself in my time, some of them admittedly more purple than should be seen outside of crackfic, but this takes them all:

    ...Rowf's rump slid suddenly forward as smoothly as a turd from a healthy anus...

    I can't even facepalm. It's too squicky.

    I hope all the Americans had a wonderful Thanksgiving and everyone is having a great weekend. Just a quick reminder post about the Episode 107 marathon happening tomorrow at 8pm CET (2pm US east coast/11am US west coast)!     Coco Before Chanel: A review of sorts
    Really really did not like "Coco Before Chanel." Audrey Tautou is gorgeous and I could have looked at her all day, but I found her character's motivations unfathomable, and I had no sense at all where Chanel's great talent and style came from, nor was there any sense of the force in design she would one day become.

    This was nothing but an overblown romance that somehow reduced everything she did to being about some guy. Nauseating. I HATED it.

    Beautiful, yes. But blech.

    I wish someone would make the Chanel film that is in my head. Because this is DEFINITELY not it.

    So went and celebrated my end of semester last night with the Jenn! There really isn't much to do in this town on a Friday night - not compared to so many other cities, but we had the strange, but unusual sight of the Christmas tree lighting on a hot Spring night in the middle of town, whilst it's still light, lol. Not sure what Texas thought of a stinking hot and lame Christmas tree lighting with bubbles blowing instead of snow in summer like conditions, lmao.

    But we made the best of it, walking over from Southbank to the city, and back. Of course, the lame-ass cinemas were only showing New Moon and 2012, which was lulzy.

    Came home and then we watched Tormented, which gets lulzier every time I watch it, lulz.

    I'm going to let the Jennimal drive my car tomorrow... hee hee!

    So POTD is the Christmassy spirit - the lights of the Mall, and the freshly lit Christmas tree outside city hall...
